In order to support students’ independent activities for startups, our school held the 7th evening seminar at the multipurpose hall on Friday, December 22, Reiwa 5. This is the third installment of a three-part series of “Toyota National College of Technology: Business Plan Creation Guide”.
This event was supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s Startup Education Environment Improvement Project. Participants included students, international students, faculty and staff, as well as partner companies.
In the third installment of the series, Mr. Tatsuya Hattori of the Aichi Strategy Group, Sales Planning Department, Aichi Bank, and Mr. Kenta Kawada of the Investment Team of Aichi Capital Co., Ltd., gave a lecture titled “How to Create a Capital Policy for Startups.”
In between the lectures, we worked on calculating the price-to-earnings ratio (P/E) and matching the answers, as well as putting specific numbers in the financial plan table. The student responded in detail to questions such as, “As a result of the work, the founder’s shareholding ratio is less than 50% at the time of listing, and there is a possibility that this will not allow us to make quick decisions, so will investors give us a negative evaluation?” In this way, he talked about financial planning in an easy-to-understand manner while interspersing dialogue with the students.
