On Saturday, February 22, Reiwa 7, 16 students (3 majors in the Civil Engineering and Architecture Course, 13 in the Department of Civil Engineering) and 2 faculty members (TANAKA Takayuki and OGASAWARA Akinobu in the Department of Civil Engineering) participated in the Toyota City Disaster Prevention Event “Challenge to Disaster Prevention Nature Games with Parents and Children” held at the Toyota City Nature Observation Forest!
This event is sponsored by the Toyota Disaster Prevention Awareness Promotion Council, and is a hands-on event for families interested in disaster prevention, including infants and elementary school students, to experience disaster prevention and nature.
Our school exhibited three booths: “Topographic Data Acquisition Experience Using 3D Scanners”, “Yahagi River Flood Analysis and Liquefaction Experiment”, and “Disaster Prevention Game LIFE Experience Session”. In addition, it was a valuable opportunity for the students to cooperate with local people in disaster prevention activities, such as cooking with a kitchen car that was active in the area affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake and supporting the activities of other organizations such as disaster prevention quizzes!
