On Monday, December 16, 2024, we exchanged opinions with members of the Environment Division of the Taketoyo Town Hall in Aichi Prefecture for future government-academia collaboration. This opinion exchange meeting was held as part of the “R&D and human resource development for the construction of social infrastructure for the realization of a hydrogen society,” which is one of the GEAR5.0 (Advanced Education for Social Implementation of Future Technologies) project by the National Institute of Technology(KOSEN).
Associate Professor SATO of Toyota KOSEN, who specializes in the field of urban planning and urban development, Associate Professor NISHIGUCHI of Sasebo KOSEN, who specializes in the mechanics of materials and hydrogen embrittlement, and Professor NAGASHIMA, who is a KRA (KOSEN Research Administrator) of the GEAR 5.0 project, participated in the exchange of opinions. At the beginning, Associate Professor NISHIGUCHI of Sasebo KOSEN explained the social trends toward the realization of a hydrogen society and the latest research and development that the research team is working on. Next, Associate Professor SATO of Toyota KOSEN explained the key points, including a concrete image of government-academia collaboration toward decarbonized urban development. On top of that, the staff of the Environment Division of the Taketoyo Town Hall explained the efforts and future direction of Taketoyo Town’s decarbonization efforts. It was a meaningful opportunity to exchange opinions in exploring future collaboration.
