On Sunday, September 15, Reiwa 6, Toyota KOSEN Domi Town was held with a total of about 35 people, including 21 students, 4 faculty members, 7 elementary school students recruited from the public, and local residents.
In the morning, Professor Kimura of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Associate Professor Ohata of the Department of Environmental and Urban Engineering, and Associate Professor Morikami of the Department of Architecture planned and supervised the program, and the technical college students served as instructors, and the participating elementary school students had the experience of reading their favorite mascots into a 3D space and strolling around Sasado Town (https://door.ntt/h6Ruijb/), which was created in the metaverse, with the mascot. On the metaverse, I was flying around Sasado Town at will.
In the afternoon rice harvest, the rice fields were very muddy due to the heavy rain that had continued since the previous day, and unfortunately we had to give up the rice harvest. Instead, I went to take a walk in the real space in Sasado Town, where I took a walk in the metaverse in the morning. The people of Sasado, who have been cooperating with us in rice management and farming guidance on a daily basis, will harvest the rice at a later date.
