  1. Our school’s environmental and urban engineering students and faculty members participated in the disaster prevention event “Let’s try staying in the car with parents and children!” as staff!

On November 18 (Sat) and 19 (Sun) of the 5th year of Reiwa, students of the Department of Environmental and Urban Engineering, Associate Professor Tanaka of the Department of Environmental and Urban Engineering, and Assistant Professor Ogasawara participated as staff members in the disaster prevention event “Let’s try staying in the car with parents and children!” held at Sengoku Park near Toyota Stadium. This event is a collaboration project with Rally Japan 2023 hosted by the Toyota Disaster Prevention Awareness Promotion Council. Participants were given the opportunity to experience staying in a car in the event of a disaster, and learned about disaster prevention and mitigation measures such as transport drills and first aid. Our school staff set up the venue, managed the event, and were in charge of the disaster prevention game “LIFE”. It was a very meaningful event for our students who participated, as they were able to learn about how to respond in the event of a disaster!
This initiative was carried out as part of the disaster prevention activities under the cooperation agreement with Toyota City, and the details of the initiative will be broadcast on Himawari Network in the future.
