Students from the Department of Information Engineering pay a courtesy call on the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications

  1. Students from the Department of Information Engineering pay a courtesy call on the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications

The team selected as the finalists of “Entrepreneur Koshien” paid a courtesy call on Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Noda on Friday, June 29, and representatives of the student team of the Department of Information Engineering, who became the finalists, also participated.

“Entrepreneur Koshien” is a contest for student entrepreneurs co-sponsored by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT). The Toyota National College of Technology Department of Information Engineering team participated in the national contest held in March this year as representatives of the “National College of Technology Procon”.

For the first time, the Minister and the finalists of Entrepreneur Koshien were able to exchange opinions directly, and on the day of the event, seven representatives of each team selected as finalists (from technical college students to graduate students) and mentors participated and exchanged opinions with Minister Noda. A representative student of the Toyota National College of Technology team introduced a system that supports the driving of cars by the elderly.

The students who paid a courtesy call were overwhelmed by the seriousness of the other participants’ efforts to commercialize the business, but it seemed to be a great stimulus for future initiatives.

This year as well, members mainly from the Department of Information Engineering have decided to participate in the main competition of the National College of Technology Programming Contest. We look forward to your continued support.
