  1. Received the “Excellence Award” at the “Student Research Presentation” of the Japan Society of Educational Systems and Informatics!

Yuki Ito, a second-year student in the Department of Information Science, received the Excellence Award at the 2019 Student Research Presentation of the Japan Society for Educational Systems and Informatics. This presentation is a research presentation for students held once a year by the Japan Society of Educational Systems and Informatics on a nationwide scale. The schedule will be divided into 9 venues nationwide, and presentations can be made at a venue with a convenient date regardless of the location of the institution to which you belong.

However, this year, due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the group format presentation was canceled, and the presentation and judging were switched to online presentations and judging, or video judging by submitting presentation videos (correspondence varies depending on the venue). At the Gifu venue, where Mr. Ito was scheduled to make a presentation, a video judging was conducted by submitting the presentation video and slide data, and as a result of the judging committee, he was awarded the “Excellence Award”.

The research theme that received the award was “Development of a voice interactive memorization learning support system using a robot-type smartphone.” In this research, we aimed to realize a learning environment in which learners and robots promote cooperative learning through dialogue using the robot-type smartphone “Robohon” (manufactured by Sharp Corporation).
