At the 41st National High School Student Reading Experience Contest, the work of Aiko Okazaki, a first-year student in the Department of Environmental and Urban Engineering, was selected for the National Association of High School Principals Award, and the work of Sakura Sugiyama, a second-year student in the Department of Architecture, was selected for the prefecture.

Mr. Okazaki, who was selected in the central competition, was scheduled to participate in the award ceremony to be held in Tokyo in January, but the award ceremony was canceled due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection. Therefore, the award ceremony was held at the school the other day. Currently, the web award ceremony is open to the public on the website of the organizer organization Hitotsubashi Literary Education Promotion Association.

In this reading experience contest, no more than five works from each school are selected by the school’s internal selection. These will be further selected by each prefecture, and five winning works will be selected. One of the works won the Outstanding Award.
They are sent to the country, from which eight works are selected for the central selection.
This year’s contest was contested by 449 schools in 47 prefectures nationwide, and the total number of entries was 83,500. Every summer, we solicit works for students in the first and second grades, and we conduct an internal selection process to apply for concool.

It is a valuable opportunity to face oneself and nurture a rich humanity through reading.
