KIDA Makoto and SUZUKI Yugo, 3rd grede students in the Department of Civil Engineering, were interviewed by a magazine called “Toyota City Days” regarding the acquisition of disaster prevention qualifications and disaster prevention education and activities in the Department of Civil Engineering at our KOSEN! TANAKA Takayuki, a professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, who serves as a lecturer at the Disaster Prevention Officer Training Course, and members of the Disaster Prevention Measures Division of Toyota City Hall exchanged opinions on the reasons for obtaining the Disaster Prevention Specialist certification, disaster prevention education at Toyota KOSEN, and enthusiasm for future disaster prevention activities. This project was held as part of a feature article on disaster prevention activities centered on the Toyota City Disaster Prevention Promotion Council. In this year’s disaster prevention officer training course hosted by Aichi Institute of Technology, more than 70 students from the Department of Civil Engineering at Toyota KOSEN obtained qualifications as disaster prevention specialists. The interview article will be published in “Toyota City Days Vol.8” scheduled to be released in February 2025.
