On Monday, January 20, 2025, at a study session on advanced technologies hosted by the Toyota Innovation Center, the results of the GEAR 5.0 project were explained and opinions were exchanged with local companies. The content of this study session is based on the results of the “R&D and human resource development for the construction of social infrastructure for the realization of a hydrogen society (energy and environment fields),” which is one of the GEAR5.0 (Advanced Education for Social Implementation of Future Technologies) project by the National Institute of Technology(KOSEN). In the field of GEAR 5.0 energy and environment, Sasebo KOSEN is the core base school, and Toyota, Oita, Kurume, Suzuka, and Nara KOSEN are cooperating schools in research and development and social implementation.

Professor MATSUMOTO of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Oita KOSEN, who is a unit sub-leader in the GEAR5.0 energy and environment field, gave a talk about the latest research results and social trends that the research team is working on toward the realization of a hydrogen society.
