Seven fourth-year students of the Department of Architecture participated in the design of a house at a practical seminar on industry-academia collaboration with Toyota Sumairu Life, and a completion presentation was held on Saturday, March 23, 2024.
This initiative, which started in 2015, was suspended for three years due to the coronavirus pandemic, but was resumed this year, and this is the sixth building. The theme of this year’s housing is “a house that makes you want to live.” We aimed to create a living space that would encourage people to brag, make memories, indulge in hobbies, invite friends, and so on.
It was a house with many points recommended by students, such as a large earthen floor space, hand washing at the entrance, wallpaper accent cloth, and a large living space. I learned a lot from the valuable experience of actually building a space conceived with drawings and models.
