Grand Prize at HACK U KOSEN 2023 sponsored by LINE Yahoo Japan Corporation

HACK U KOSEN 2023, sponsored by LINE Yahoo Japan Corporation and supported by the National Institute of Technology, was held on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the Kioicho office of LINE Yahoo Japan Corporation. Team YounGeek (5th year students of the Department of Information Engineering, Mr. Hoku Ishibe, Mr. Daiki Ito, Mr. Aito Kato, Mr. Fumiyo Sakaguchi, Mr. Yuta Fukino, and Mr. Ito, 3rd year student of the Department of Information Engineering, Mr. Ito, 3rd year student of the Department of Information Engineering. Yu Tae) won the Grand Prize and the Happy Hacking Award.
This year, a hackathon was held under the theme of “Hack Christmas!”, and the team YounGeek of Toyota National College of Technology developed a smartphone app called “Santa Claus Can’t Fool You”. “Santa Can’t Fool You” is an icebreaker game based on the concept of candles. It provides a function to shorten the distance between people who have barely spoken to each other even if they know each other in circles and club activities.
We have implemented an intuitive card-type user interface and a function to communicate with two smartphones using ultrasound. As a result, it was evaluated that the app was easy to use even for people who meet for the first time.
