On Friday, May 5, Junki Kimura, a second-year student in the Department of Information Engineering, won the individual competition of the 54th All Japan High School Shogi Championship Aichi Prefecture Tournament, and will represent the prefecture in the individual shogi tournament at the 42nd High School Cultural Festival and the 2018 Shinshu Sobun Festival to be held in August. In addition, Chotaro Ogasawara, a second-year student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, was also selected to represent the prefecture in the Go team competition. Further success is expected in the future.
