An internal competition was held under the planning and management of Mr. Shigeshi Nakayama, a fourth-year student in the Department of Architecture, and Mr. Keiichiro Nakata and Mr. Renji Umeda, who are also fourth-year students in the Department of Architecture. The theme of the competition is “freedom,” but we decided to cut out a board called a saburokuban (saburokuban) with a length of about 1820 mm × 910 mm. When selecting the best works, all participants voted and decided with the creator’s name hidden. Among the applications from the Department of Architecture, second-year students Sakiho Araki and Chiri Matsuura and third-year student Shundai Koga were selected as first place with the same votes. Some of the submitted works will be actually created with the cooperation of the DIY workshop “GIFT”.
