On Thursday, April 27, Reiwa, first-year students from the Department of Environmental and Urban Engineering participated in the Toyota City Evacuation Center Management Training. In addition to attending explanations of evacuation center management for Toyota City officials, we participated in various drills such as evacuation center management training assuming evacuees staying overnight in cars, training to support people requiring special care, and training for installing water containers. It was a very valuable opportunity to learn about disaster prevention activities related to practical work, which cannot be experienced in ordinary classes.
This initiative was carried out as part of disaster prevention activities in collaboration with Toyota City, such as classes on disaster prevention literacy and the “Comprehensive Partnership Agreement between Toyota City and universities, etc.,” and the details of the initiative were published in the Chunichi Shimbun on April 29, Reiwa 5.
