At the KOSEN Design Competition 2025, two teams from the Department of Architecture won the Excellence Award and the Special Jury Award!

On Saturday, November 8 and Sunday, November 9, 2025, the “22nd KOSEN Design Competition” was held in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture.
In the Department of Architecture, third and fourth year students are working on the “Spatial Design Division” issue in the design and drafting class, and a total of 11 teams applied for the preliminary round this year. There are 110 teams from all over the country who have applied for the preliminary round, and 10 of them will advance to the finals in November. Two teams from our school passed the preliminary round and participated in the finals.
On the first and second days, two presentations were made to the three judges, and the judging was conducted. The participating teams of our school are two teams, a mixed team of 5th and 4th graders and a 4th grade team, and each of them has been working on the production of presentation boards and models with their thoughts from the preliminary entries.
Last year, two teams participated in the final round and won the W award, and this year, two teams won the W award as well as last year.

Set in Arimatsu, Nagoya City, this work captures the relationship between the road and the region from a macro and micro perspective. The precision of the proposal by reading the site and interviewing local residents, and the method of solving problems by patterning and multiplying them, were evaluated. The high level of perfection of the model and presentation was also evaluated.

[Special Jury Prize (4th place)] “Mori Tsumugi, Machi Tsunagu” (4th year in the Department of Architecture, TSUBOUCHI Haruna, KATO Momoka, TAKEMOTO Sera, HAYASHIDA Miki)
Taking up the Inabu district of Toyota City, it is proposed to create a cycle of thinning wood use through renovation and new construction of existing buildings, and to return the forestry industry to the regional axis. It was praised for carefully tackling the issues of the forest and the city and making specific proposals.
