On Saturday, October 4, 2025, three students from the Department of Civil Engineering and two students from Toyota City Inabu Junior High School participated in the “Business/Idea Technology Contest” technical experience session sponsored by the Japan Patent Attorneys Association held at EXPO Messe “WASSE” in the Osaka-Kansai Expo venue.
From this year, our school student volunteers and students of Inabu Junior High School are working together to revitalize the Inabu area, but as a spin-off project, we will form a team of Toyota KOSEN students and junior high school students to participate in the above contest sponsored by the Japan Patent Attorneys Association. At the technology experience session on October 4th, the participants experienced products and technologies using the latest XR technology and learned about their characteristics. In the second half, we held a workshop with patent attorneys to consider what kind of business ideas and ideas XR technology could be used for in the future.
We plan to continue refining ideas with a team of Toyota KOSEN students and junior high school students and compile them into concrete ideas by the end of the year. Patent attorneys will also participate in team meetings as supporters, and Toyota KOSEN students and local junior high school students will work together to create new ideas for business and technology using intellectual property!
