  1. Toyota KOSEN Administration Department Hosts SD Career Support Lecture by Alumni.

The Toyota KOSEN Administration Department held a lecture series aimed at Staff Development (SD) and career support for young and mid-career staff, featuring alumni (newly appointed managers) who previously served as administrative staff at the college.

First, on Wednesday, February 25, Mr. SUGIYAMA Norishi (Division Manager at the Institute for Glyco-core Research, Nagoya University) gave a lecture titled “Management of National Projects.” Reflecting on his administrative experience supporting the project of Professor AMANO Hiroshi, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2014, Mr. SUGIYAMA strongly advocated for a future vision of staff members who “use knowledge and experience across multiple fields as a weapon to amplify and communicate passion.” His words were filled with insights gained from the front lines of research, and participants listened intently.

Next, on Friday, February 27, Ms. OHARA Maki (Head of General Affairs at Toba KOSEN) delivered a lecture titled “Task Management, Time Management, and Career Development.” Speaking empathetically to young staff members uncertain about their career paths, Ms. OHARA shared insights from his own experience, saying, “The day of perfect preparation never comes, and anxiety never truly disappears. But once you take that first step, things usually work out.” He emphasized that “daily efforts shape your future self,” providing a powerful message of encouragement to the attendees.

Lively discussions followed the lectures on both days, with participants engaging in frank exchanges across generations and positions. The event proved to be a productive time that helped bridge the gap in perspectives on work between management and younger staff, serving as a catalyst for mutual support in career development.
