On Saturday, January 24, 2026, the “4th KOSEN Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Contest” was held at the Tsukuba International Congress Center.
In this contest, KOSEN students from across Japan compete by proposing solutions to local disaster prevention and mitigation challenges and demonstrating their verification process.
From our school, four students competed as the “HAYASAKA & OHATA Lab. Team”: HARADA Yuma (1st year, Computer Science Course), KAWAHARA Ryosuke (1st year, Computer Science Course), SUGIURA Kanta (1st year, Civil Engineering and Architecture Course), and OKAMURA Koo (5th year, Department of Civil Engineering).
As a result of the technical review (poster) and presentation judging, they competed at the top among 34 teams and proudly won the KOSEN Organization Award (equivalent to runner-up).
