The Athletics Club of our school participated in the First National KOSEN Ekiden (30th West Japan Area KOSEN Ekiden), held on December 28, 2025 (Sunday) at the Yamaguchi Kirara Expo Memorial Park special course (6 sections, 30 km) in Yamaguchi Prefecture, and won the 6th place overall.
Under the clear sky, 21 teams (including 4 open entry teams) started at 11:00 AM, and MURAMATSU Ryota (5th year, Department of Architecture), who ran the first section, showed a run that won him the first section prize. Along the way, MATSUMOTO Hibiki (3rd year, Department of Mechanical Engineering) in the second section and SASAKI Daichi (5th year, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering) in the fifth section also fought well, placing second in their respective sections, but the race gradually became difficult, and they finished in 6th place, about 2 minutes behind the top team. The winner was Matsue KOSEN. We believe that this result is due to the sincere and continuous efforts of the track and field club members in training since the fall in preparation for participating in this tournament.
Finally, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those involved inside and outside the school who have given us warm support and understanding on a regular basis.
