We carried out a multi-generational participatory exchange project “Toyota KOSEN DomiTown”!

  1. We carried out a multi-generational participatory exchange project “Toyota KOSEN DomiTown”!

On Sunday, September 21, Reiwa 7, Toyota KOSEN was held with a total of about 40 people, including 22 students, 3 faculty members, 12 elementary school students selected through public recruitment, and local residents.
In the morning, students served as lecturers, and the participating elementary school students made a boat using aluminum foil and competed to see how much luggage (weights) they could carry. We learned the power of science while thinking about what kind of ship we could build to carry more luggage with KOSEN students, and had fun using familiar things.
In the afternoon, we were originally scheduled to harvest the glutinous rice planted at the Toyota KOSEN Domitown in May. However, due to the heavy rain the night before, the mud in the rice fields was severe, and unfortunately we had to give up harvesting rice. Instead, I went for a walk around Sasado Town, including the rice fields where I was scheduled to harvest rice. Some elementary school and KOSEN students visited Sasado Town for the first time, and some were surprised, saying, “How can there be so much nature in the same Toyota City?”
