At the 22nd Annual Meeting of the Japan Accelerator Society held on August 8, 2025 at the Setagaya Campus of Tokyo City University, two students from our school’s Mechanical Club gave presentations.
With the support of the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK), a world-class research institute, the Mechanical Club has been developing small particle accelerators since March 2023.
Accelerators are cutting-edge and basic technologies in various fields such as basic science, medicine, and industry, and require knowledge and skills in a wide range of fields, including physics and engineering.
By designing and manufacturing accelerators by hand, we acquire the basics of manufacturing and science.
This time, we received a request from the Japan Accelerator Society to give a special lecture on this activity, and together with Koyama National College of Technology, Nagano National College of Technology, Gunma National College of Technology, and Okinawa National College of Technology, Yuyo Ashizuka, a fifth-year student in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Systems Engineering at Toyota National College of Technology, and Reikora Tanishig, a fourth-year student, gave a special lecture (open lecture) titled “Accelerators after school!? We also made a poster presentation.

This activity is being carried out with the cooperation of accelerator researchers from KEK, RIKEN, The Graduate University for Advanced Studies, Nagoya University, and many other research institutes.
If you are interested, please come and visit us as we exhibit at our school’s cultural festival “Koyo Festival” (November 1 (Sat), 2 (Sun))!
