For two days on June 18 (Wednesday) and 19 (Thursday) in the 7th year of Reiwa, we exhibited at the “KOSEN Future Challenge” held at the EXPO Messe “WASSE” in the Osaka-Kansai Expo venue.
Organized by the Yomiuri Shimbun, this event brought together a total of 30 KOSEN, 23 national, 1 public, 1 private, and 5 from overseas, under the theme of “Designing a Future Society that Shines with Life,” and exhibited a wide range of research results on themes such as robots, energy, food, and semiconductors. Four students and one faculty member participated in a soccer mini-game with two small robots that are active in the RoboCup. Participants controlled one robot with a controller and played against another robot controlled by AI. Visitors who experienced the event commented, “It’s difficult for humans to operate, and it’s amazing that AI can control it so quickly and accurately,” and “I definitely want to beat AI robots. I want to do it again.”
At the venue, KOSEN students also interacted with each other, and our students were able to deepen their friendship by visiting the booths of other KOSEN and participating in events, and had a meaningful time visiting the pavilions in the Expo site. We received a lot of high praise for KOSEN students from the visitors, and I realized that they are expected by society. As a school, we would like to continue to support various activities so that we can contribute to society.
