On Sunday, June 8, 2025, a total of about 30 people, including 13 students from the Department of Civil Engineering at our school, 6 students from Inabu Middle School, and local residents, participated in community development activities at the “Acorn Theme Hall (commonly known as Inabu Lab),” which is the activity base of the Inabu Town Development Council, which is adjacent to the roadside station “Donguri no Sato Inabu”.
This time, with the aim of discovering the local resources of the Inabu area, we worked on walking around the central area of the Inabu region and putting it into a map of what kind of attractions it has.
As I walked around the town with the guidance of the people of the Inatake Town Development Council, I realized that there are many attractive points in the Inabu area, such as historic buildings, historical sites, newly built accommodation facilities, and cafes. On the other hand, due to the aging of the community and the problem of succession, it was found that many vacant stores and vacant houses are also located. After that, technical college students and junior high school students worked together in the Inabu Lab to map what kind of local resources were where.
We will continue to engage in collaborative activities and consider ideas that can contribute to solving local issues!
