On Monday, December 9, 2024, we held an opinion exchange meeting with officers of the Industrial Department of the Miyoshi Chamber of Commerce and Industry for future industry-academia collaboration. This opinion exchange meeting was held as part of the “R&D and human resource development for the construction of social infrastructure for the realization of a hydrogen society,” which is one of the GEAR5.0 (Advanced Education for Social Implementation of Future Technologies) project by the National Institute of Technology(KOSEN).
At the opinion exchange meeting, Associate Professor Sato of Toyota KOSEN Department of Civil Engineering explained the characteristics of KOSEN and the fact that they can work to solve regional issues by taking advantage of the economies of scale of the 51 KOSEN nationwide. Next, Associate Professor Sasaki of Kurume KOSEN who specializes in the field of mechanics of materials, explained the social trends toward the realization of a hydrogen society and the latest research and development that the research team is working on. On top of that, opinions were exchanged on the elements necessary for collaboration between local companies and technical colleges and the direction of future initiatives. At the end of the meeting, the two leaders confirmed that they will continue to consider and actively promote specific collaborations.
